WP Not in Root Folder on EE?

I am a beginner with EE and trying to learn if I can use it the way I like to use WP.

One nice way to keep a WP installation tidy/organized is to install it in domainname.com/wpfolder, but set the site to load from domainname.com as described here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory.

Is it possible to install WP directly with EE to put it in a subdirectory like this and set it to run out of root?

Hi @EEForumID,

Actually wordpress path is /var/www/example.com/htdocs.

And if you want to read more about wordpress conventions then please refer this link

Hello, Thank you very much for the reply. I am not sure that I have done a good job of explaining what it is that I am asking. I did review the link that you provided. I couldn’t connect it to my problem as I am very much a beginner. Perhaps a picture will help. I usually run WP sites set up like this:

Can I end up with this result in EE using the simple codes? Or do I have to install in a subdirectory and then manually move the index file and .htaccess file using ftp? With either scenario, what would be the simple EE code to use generate the subdirectory install?

Hi @EEForumID

Currently you can’t do this using EE although you may have a look at following link which might assist you to get your issue fixed :

It’s been a long time, and we haven’t heard from you. It looks like your issue is resolved.
