--wp (basic) still requires Nginx Helper?

When I update a site to --wp (trying to avoid caching during development) Nginx Helper is still installed, but all the options are turned off. However, the site still seems to be cached and I have to go enable Nginx Helper (or click purge) in order to see changes.

Can anyone explain what’s going on? I don’t know that much about Nginx & caching.

@andrewklimek

EasyEngine installs Nginx Helper with --wp because it does another work than purge cache and that is it removes index.php from permalinks when using WordPress with nginx.

And talking about the issues you are facing with cache for your dev site, can you please tell me if you are facing issues for your static files like loading css and js or or you are having full page cache?

can you give me output for curl -I http://example.com
