Using latest versions of rtMedia & Buddypress.
If I disable “Allow upload from activity stream”, uploads from the users’profiles do not appear in the activity stream ie. no entry is created for them in the activity table.
Ideally I would like users to be able to upload from their profiles only (ie. not direct from the activity stream), yet still have a notification appear in the activity stream to alert other users that new media has been uploaded.
I can’t imagine this is an uncommon requirement. Have I missed a setting or is this a bug?

Note: I’ve just seen that someone else posed the exact same question back in August 2015 but received no replies. I’m therefore guessing this functionality may be by design, although would be great to find a work around
