Sitemap XML extension being cut off

I am using a Q & A plugin which produces it’s own site map.

Is ee configured so that when a URL ending with .xml is requested, the server will return not found error unless a file physically exists in that URL? I am asking this because the following URL seems to work which is without the .xml part.

http://example.com/sabai-sitemap-index

but http://example.com/sabai-sitemap-index.xml

does not work.

Are the YOAST rewrite rules effecting this?

Please try disabling and then enabling the sitemap functionality and this might work, this happens sometimes.
