Nginx refuses to purge -gateway 504 error

Nginx helper shows error 504 Gateway Time-out. I updated one of my sites and now the purge doesn’t work from inside the dashboard.

The problem goes away when I enable redis caching method in the rtcamp Nginx helper settings .
