How to reset root mysql password on EasyEngine

I updated the .my.cnf file to change the password and now I’ve lost the real password. What steps can I take to reset the password?

updating .my.cnf does not update mysql user password. its just used to login mysql.

For now you can use following tutorial to update mysql user password

after resetting password please update .my.cnf with that password
