How to fix "The following memcached servers are not responding or not running:"

I just checked my w3 cache and this showed:

The following memcached servers are not responding or not running:
Page Cache: 127.0.0.1:11211.
Minify: 127.0.0.1:11211.
Database Cache: 127.0.0.1:11211.
Object Cache: 127.0.0.1:11211.
This message will automatically disappear once the issue is resolved.

I just rebooted my system and it worked again.

did you check for tail -f /var/log/memcached.log for the reason.
