I like WP Social Gallery https://wordpress.org/plugins/social-gallery-lite/ and would like to use it instead of rtMedia lightbox in BuddyPress. But if I turn off lightbox in rtMedia, it doesn’t seem to allow Social Gallery to work either.

We have tested the plugin you are talking about and found that it is not working properly with rtMedia disabled too.
